Aquamarine is the greenish blue to blue green variety of beryl, named after the Latin word for seawater​.

Emerald is the green to bluish green variety of beryl.  Emerald is one of the "Big 3" colored gems along with ruby and sapphire.

June - ​Pearl

Pearl is an organic gem created by living mollusks, clams and other marine gastropods.

July - Ruby

July Birthstone - Ruby

Ruby is the red to purplish red variety of corundum.  It is part of the "Big 3" colored gems along with sapphire and emerald.

August - ​Peridot & Spinel

Peridot is a yellowish green to greenish yellow gem, often with eye-visible doubling​.

September - Sapphire

Sapphire, along with ruby and emerald, is part of the "Big 3" colored gems.  Sapphire is a variety of corundum that occurs in nearly every color except red to purplish red, because those would be classified as a ruby!

Tanzanite is a variety of zoisite that ranges in color from bluish purple to violetish blue, to violet.
