ENAMEL
Enamel is a powdered glass that is fused to a metal when fired in a kiln, at temperatures between 1,380° & 1,560° Fahrenheit. Enamel is usually colored, and is set atop various metals, for decorative purposes. There are various types of enameling techniques such as guilloché, taille d'épargne, cloisonné, champlevé, plique-à-jour, and grand feu. |
