Taille d'Épargne
Taille d'épargne is sometimes referred to as black enamel tracery.
Taille d'épargne is a form of champlevé, an enameling technique where opaque enamel is used to fill low-relief etchings in metal. Taille d'épargne was popular during the 1850s, in mass-produced Birmingham pieces. The style remained popular through the 1860s as American jewelers imitated the technique. |
