This brand new necklace was curated & designed by GIA Graduate Gemologist & Certified Master Appraiser, Scott Papper.
It features an untreated, natural hexagonal trapiche ruby framed by a halo of diamonds, in 18 karat white gold.
Accompanied by GIA Report # 2201532843.
Trapiche rubies are a rare variety of ruby named after a six-spoked cogwheel used in sugar cane mills (trapiche de cańa azucar in Spanish).
Trapiche rubies often have sharp, hexagonal growth lines that create a fixed, 6-ray star.
Trapiche rubies are currently found in only 2 locations on earth: Mong Hsu, Myanmar (Burma) and India.
The ruby is framed by forty-nine (49) round brilliant cut natural diamonds totaling exactly 0.52 carat. These diamonds measure 1.30mm in diameter and grade G color, VS1 clarity.
Necklace measures 17.5" long and is fastened by a standard lobster claw clasp, hallmarked "18KT Italy"
Gross weight of the necklace is 9.2 grams.
The necklace will be accompanied by its original GIA Lab Report. Sale will also include a digital copy of an Appraisal Report for insurance purposes.
