Victorian Enameled Diamond & Pearl Ear Clips
These absolutely gorgeous, handmade antique ear clips, from the Mid Victorian Era (The Grand Period, circa 1860-1885), feature old mine cushion cut diamonds and natural pearls set in 14 karat gold with blue guilloché enameling!
The ear clips contain a total of ten (10) natural old mine cushion cut diamonds, totaling ≈ 0.60 carat.
The two (2) diamonds set at the center of each ear clip measure 2.91 x 2.89mm.
The remaining eight (8) diamonds measure ≈ 2.00 x 2.00mm.
The diamonds grade G-I color and VS1-SI1 clarity.
The ear clips also contain twenty-four (24) natural seed pearls that average 3mm in diameter.
The metal is hand-chased beneath the blue guilloché enamel. The center cluster station, each star station, and the edge of each earring is hand-finished with fine millegrain details!
Overall diameter of the earrings are 25mm.
The ear clips are fastened by hinged closures (for non-pierced ears), that were added at a later date, most likely in the 1940s-1950s. The hinged clips are stamped "14K PAT PEND".
Gross weight of the ear clips is 21.1 grams.
