GIA Certified Art Déco Fancy Colored Diamond Ring in Platinum
This magnificent, Art Deco Era ring features a GIA-certified 2.25 carat fancy intense brownish yellow diamond center, accented by old European cut diamonds in a complex, platinum filigree setting
Circa 1915 - 1935
GIA Certificate # 6193686936
The center diamond is a natural, old European cut diamond, measuring 8.17-8.33 x 5.15mm, that weighs approximately 2.25 carats. Its intensely-saturated, brownish yellow color has been determined to be of natural origin, free of any and all treatments. Unfortunately, It is almost impossible to capture the brilliance and vibrance of this intense colored diamond with pictures. The amazing saturation and play of colors can't be expressed with a photo, it must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!
You'll notice on the GIA certificate that the diamond was graded while still in the mounting. This was done on purpose to avoid damaging the extremely complicated, original Art Deco mounting. If you examine how the center diamond is set, you'll notice the diamond setter used four of the bezel set diamond accents as the prongs to secure the center diamond. Removing the center diamond from the setting would most certainly ruin the integrity of the piece.
In addition to the colored diamond, there are an additional eighteen (18) old European cut diamond accents. These diamonds average 2.40mm in diameter and total approximately 0.90 carat. They grade G-H color and VS2-SI2 clarity.
***PLEASE NOTE: 1 OF THE DIAMOND ACCENTS IS CHIPPED/BROKEN.***
Total diamond weight of the ring is approximately 3.15 carats.
The platinum setting displays wonderful pierced filigree work, subtle millegrain detailing and hand-engraved scrollwork.
Inside the ring is stamped, "10% Irid. Plat".
The ring is presently a size 6 and has a gross weight of 5.4 grams (3.5 dwts).
The ring will be accompanied by the original GIA Gemological Report.
