Victorian 12K Gold Old Mine Cut Paste Lapel Pin
This fine quality, antique, Victorian era lapel pin features old mine cushion cut French paste set in 12 karat rose gold.
The French paste has been faceted into an extremely brilliant, old mine cushion cut that can easily be confused for a diamond!
The paste is custom set in a six prong buttercup basket setting at one end of the brooch. The opposite end of the brooch comes to a point, with subtle scrollwork.
The brooch is fastened by a handmade C-catch with tube hinge, and a pin that extends beyond the edge of the brooch. This configuration was common in the Victorian Era.
The piece is not hallmarked but has been tested, and tests solid 12 karat rose gold.
The pin measures approximately 1" from end to end and has a gross weight of 1.4 grams.
