Joe Barela Navajo Bolo Tie
This magnificent, vintage bolo tie was handcrafted by Southwestern Navajo artisan, Joe Barela.
The bolo features a large centerpiece set with natural turquoise, precious red coral, and actual bear claws!
The bolo contains two (2) polished turquoise cabochons, each hammer set in custom bezels.
It also contains one (1) polished red coral, also hammer set in a custom bezel.
The two (2) bear claws are capped with sterling silver, and are secured with sterling silver wire wraps.
The piece is also embellished with sterling silver beads, spirals and feathers. In Native American symbolism, spirals can represent water, wind, and creatures associated with water such as snails. Feathers represent strength, trust, wisdom and honor.
It has a hinged clamp, allowing for length adjustment of the woven leather bolo, tipped with stylized, beaded sterling tips. Please Note that one of the sterling tips has a brown glue stain.
The reverse is signed with a hand-engraved signature and hallmark, "Joe Barela Sterling Silver".
