Dennis Kalisteo Navajo Bear Bolo Tie
This magnificent, vintage bolo tie was handcrafted by Southwestern Navajo artisan, Dennis Kalisteo.
The bolo features a 3-dimensional grizzly bear at the center of the piece.
The bear contains four (4) synthetic rubies totaling approximately 1.00 carat (2 in its eyes, 1 in its mouth, and 1 in its paw).
Set to the right of the bear is one (1) actual bear claw!
Two (2) actual badger claws dangle at the ends of the bolo tie!
Set beneath the bear is one (1) natural elk's tooth!
There are thirteen (7) natural black onyx cabochons set along the border of the bolo, as well as atop the caps of the animal claws.
The bolo is embellished with 3-dimensional feather, bead and hogan (home) symbolism. A rope wire border frames the piece, with notched edges.
The reverse side of the bolo is signed, "DK", and has a hinged clamp to secure the woven leather tie.
The bolo plate measures 2 3/4" x 2 1/4". The sterling silver bolo tips measure 2" long, or 4 1/2" if you include the claw drops.
