ROSE GOLD
Rose gold, or pink gold, was first used in the 1800s, in Imperial Russia and was referred to as Russian gold. Rose gold is created by alloying gold with copper, which gives it a pinkish hue. During World War II, restrictions were placed on the use of platinum in jewelry, as it was considered a metal beneficial in the production materials for war. This made yellow gold and rose gold more popular options during this period, as well as during the Retro Era that followed. |
