Retrofit jewelry is jewelry that has been repurposed by adding more modern components that it did not have when it was originally manufactured.

This is also referred to as a marriage of two pieces of jewelry.

For example, many antique brooches have been converted into pendants and pairs of cufflinks have been converted into earrings.
