There are many different fancy shaped diamonds, including the heart shape.

The first heart shaped diamond dates back to 1463, which was most likely a crudely-shaped heart with few facets.

Today's heart shaped diamonds are much more brilliant, featuring both brilliant cut crowns and pavilions.
