Chrysoprase is the semi-transparent to semi-translucent, light to medium-dark yellowish green variety of chalcedony.

Chrysoprase is the rarest variety of chalcedony and is cherished for its apple green color.

Fine quality chrysoprase is often mistaken for Imperial jadeite.
